Located in the heart of downtown Quincy, IL, the Herald-Whig is owned by Quincy Media, Inc. The family owned newspaper is the sole heir to a long line of Quincy publications and a direct descendant of the first newspaper in Adams County. The Herald-Whig traces its roots to The Illinois Bounty Land Register, which published its first edition on April 17, 1835, 17 years after Illinois achieved statehood. At the time, there were only three other newspapers in the state, publishing in Jacksonville, Springfield and Galena. Following a long series of mergers, the Herald-Whig printed its first edition on June 1, 1926. Everything kind of felt fuzzy like a dream. The backseat of my car seemed like the only safe option so I laid there crying for an hour or so before going home. I made a post about this the day of, and mentioned if I didn't make it to that shift, I'd be too nervous to contact my employer again, and that's what happened. I feel like such a loser for taking time off to get help, only to no call no show on my return date and every day after that. I feel like I should be more worried about money but time/the future doesn't really feel real if that makes sense. I've been applying to jobs since and have gotten a few calls, but haven't made it to any interviews. I feel like I call my doctor too much so I'm scared to do that too. So idk where to go from here. I thought my meds worked but I guess not well enough. Im not sure if I should try switching again, I really don't want to call my doctor. Since that day back I feel like they've been less effective but idk if that just in my head. I'm getting bored out of my mind at home but get too overwhelmed to work or even make it to job interviews.
