May 12, 2020 | 10:09pm NBC's "Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd apologized Tuesday for taking remarks by William Barr out of context by only airing a shortened version of an interview the attorney general gave to another network. Todd admitted his "mistake, " but said that when the network on Sunday aired a CBS interview of Barr speaking about his handling of the Michael Flynn case, they were unaware it was not the full clip. "Now, we did not edit that out, " Todd said on air Tuesday. "That was not our edit. We didn't include it because we only saw the shorter of two clips that CBS did air. " In the clip from Sunday, Barr, responding to the Flynn case, said, "Well, history is written by the winner. So it largely depends on who's writing the history. " Todd denounced that comment, saying he was struck "by the cynicism of the answer" and claiming that Barr was admitting that "yeah, this is a political job. Simon told the publication: 'I phoned her up the other day and said "Look, I'll be honest with you. How could I criticise you for being mouthy when it's the reason I hired you in the first place?! Sharon shared: 'I turned down to be a judge on the Masked Singer. I was signed on to do another show at the time. 'I was signed to go to England, and then Simon Cowell changed his mind and thought I was too old. I was under contract and couldn't do it. ' In her true comedic fashion, music manager Sharon joked: 'Simon goes, "She's old. We need somebody young. "

'" "The second part of the Attorney General's answer would have put it in the proper context, " Todd said. "Had we seen that part of the CBS interview, I would not have framed the conversation the way I did, and I obviously am very sorry for that mistake. We strive to do better going forward. "
